About Us

Yes, we called it dumbwebsite. No, we’re not sorry.

Every other comparison site on the internet follows the same formula: pick 10 tools, rewrite their marketing pages, slap affiliate links on everything, and call it a “review.” Nobody’s actually tested anything. Nobody’s telling you what to use. They’re telling you what pays them the highest commission.

We thought that was dumb. So we made a dumb website that does it differently.

What We Actually Do

dumbwebsite.xyz publishes honest, detailed comparisons of tools that real people and real businesses use — SaaS products, developer tools, marketing platforms, quoting software, design apps, and everything in between. We compare tools head-to-head, rank them in categories, and tell you which one to pick based on what you actually need, not which one pays us to say nice things.

We cover tools listed on platforms like TrustMRR (where revenue is verified, not fabricated) and Product Hunt (where makers launch and communities react). We also go deep on trade-specific tools for plumbers, electricians, builders, and roofers — because that’s an industry where bad software recommendations cost people real money and real jobs.

Why “dumbwebsite”?

Because the internet is full of smart-sounding websites that say nothing useful. Polished, SEO-optimised, beautifully designed content farms that rank on Google and waste your time. They hedge every opinion. They recommend everything. They help no one.

We’d rather be the dumb-looking website that gives you a straight answer.

Also, every good domain was taken.

Who’s Behind This

dumbwebsite.xyz is built by indie makers who actually use the tools they write about. We build software, run businesses, and work with tradespeople and small business owners every day. We’ve launched products, failed at products, bought products, and sold products. We know what good tools feel like because we depend on them.

We’re not a faceless content mill. We’re a small team that has opinions, picks favourites, and isn’t afraid to say “this tool is overpriced” or “this one is underrated” — because that’s what we’d want someone to tell us.

Our Rules

We say what we think. Every comparison has a verdict. We pick a winner. If both tools are bad, we say that too. You came here for a recommendation, not a diplomatic handshake.

We show real data. When we reference TrustMRR listings, the revenue is Stripe-verified. When we compare features, we check the current product — not a press release from 2023. When we quote prices, we check the pricing page the day we publish.

We don’t do hidden affiliates. If we recommend something, it’s because we think it’s the best option. Not because someone’s paying us per click. If that ever changes, we’ll tell you upfront.

We update what we publish. Tools change. Prices change. Products get better or worse. When something we’ve published becomes inaccurate, we update it. We don’t publish and forget.

What We Cover
